Our very successful fundraiser at Cotleigh Brewery – Some moments from the 10/20 Festival
Here are a few photos from our very successful Plaque Cleaning event in The Square on Saturday 2nd July
JLF President’s Day Meal 15th November 2015
Our PD’s meal in the Bear was a complete success and Jon & Mille provided a fulsome and fitting banquet for JLF committee members and partners……… and NO the meal was not paid for with public donations.
A sad footnote from Bev.
“Following our perfect lunch yesterday, these are a few words I have for you all. At our lunch last year I knew that after 15 years since my diagnosis that I could no longer cope and would have to resign. I held it together during that meal and asked John and Jen home with me where I sobbed. The JLF is so dear to me and I was thrilled to become President for life. Our committee is a perfect mix of some fine friends who are both an asset and a joy to be with.”
Castletown return to Cotleigh to support the JLF
As they enjoyed playing at Wivfest so much last year, Tiverton band Castletown brought their folky sea-shanty songs back to Wivey for a fundraiser in July 2015, to the delight of the crowd at Cotleigh. There was much dancing, whooping and great fun – the brewery created the perfect atmosphere for the music. The JLF are grateful to new Wivey band Outlaw for providing able support at this their first outing, they too went down a storm.
Thanks to the generosity of Castletown and Outlaw, and Cotleigh of course for hosting the event, around £300 was raised for the JLF which will help us to continue to support our local community groups.
See you at the next gig.
