“Bring Me Sunshine”

Please find a cheque for £70. This is a donation made by the hand-bell ringing group “Bring Me Sunshine” to the Jim Laker Fund.

You were extremely generous to us when we first formed our group and we thank you.

We have continued with our playing each week and given the occasional entertainment. Each year we have raised a little money for our chosen charity.

We would also like to add our praise to the Jim Laker Fund for making it possible for Wiveliscombe to have such a splendid display of Christmas Lights this year.

Yours sincerely,

J.M

Excerpt of letter from Wiveliscombe Town Band

Would you please pass on the thanks of the Town Band onto the committee of JLF for the wonderful grant which we have just received from yourselves. As you are doubtless aware, funds are very tight for all Wive groups and your grant has given us the opportunity to refurbish our somewhat elderly percussions and also busy new cymbals. Your grant could not have come at a better time.

The Town band offers [free] training to both adults and children in brass instruments as well as percussion.

Excerpt of letter from Wiveliscombe Area Partnership December 2017 to Heather Harvey (Chairman of the 10 Parishes Business Group)

The trustees of WAP have asked me to send their sincere thank you to you, The Business Group, Jim Laker Fund and everyone involved with the Christmas Lights and the Christmas tree in The Square. The display looks wonderful and we at the Community Office plus all of our volunteers and recent visitors have all commented on how beautiful the town looks.

We all know these things don’t just happen overnight, the securing of funds, purchasing and erecting of all the necessary fixtures and fittings are hard work and, for all this unstinting effort, we are extremely grateful. The outcome is wonderful.

Yours sincerely

Excerpt of letter from Pulsford Lodge, 23 Nov 2016

Please convey our sincere thanks to the Jim Laker Fund for their donation to Pulsford Lodge Residents Comforts Fund.

The residents have chosen ‘White Christmas’ as their theme for their entertainment this year. A professional company will be providing entertainment, songs and sketches to reflect this theme.

May I on a personal and professional level thank the Jim Laker Fund for making things better for our residents, your contribution and goodwill has made such a difference to enable us to buy Christmas gifts and book additional entertainers.

My personal thanks to you all for thinking of us.

May I wish you all good health and happiness for the future and again thank you for your hard work and dedication to those who need help and assistance in the community.

With grateful thanks and best wishes

Excerpt of letter from Wiveliscombe Area Partnership, (Wivey Link) 15 June 2017

I can’t tell you how pleased we all are in the office when we opened your letter and received your wonderful cheque. Thank you so much.

As you know the money will cover the cost of road tax for our 4 vehicles and is a crucial part of keeping them on the road. Without the generosity of organisations such as you, we simply would not be able to operate and our 657 registered passengers may not have access to the daily journeys they book through Wivey Link.

Yours sincerely
